Our Consultation Process

Confidence

Before the Consult

Upon scheduling your complimentary consultation, we will send you a link to our patient portal to input your medical history, medications, and allergies. This helps us to individualize your treatment and decrease the time you wait at our office during your consultation. This information, like all of the information shared with us at any time, is confidential and protected by privacy law (HIPAA).

This is a good time to consider your goals for surgery–what you would like to change about your appearance and why–as well as any questions you might have. You will not be rushed through your consultation, and having these goals and questions in mind will help you make the most of your visit.

Check-In and Meeting With Our Clinical Staff

At the front desk you will meet our friendly receptionist and complete any unfinished paperwork. Afterward, our certified registered nurse or medical assistant will review your goals and concerns and double check the information entered into the patient portal. Being open and honest about your medical history and concerns is very important as this allows us to both serve you safely and to provide the best possible outcome for you.

Meeting with Dr. McDaniel

Once you have been checked in by our clinical staff, Dr. McDaniel will meet with you. The first portion of the consultation will include reviewing the relevant parts of your medical history and discussing your goals. The time you spent before the consultation considering your goals will benefit you now, as Dr. McDaniel will ask a variety of questions in order to create a treatment plan based on how to best to address your concerns.

After the clinical examination (described below) is complete, Dr. McDaniel will thoroughly discuss the recommended treatment plan. If surgery is recommended, you can expect to talk about:

  • The specific operation recommended and why
  • Expected results from the operation (including scar placement, anesthesia type)
  • The benefits of the procedure, the risks/possible complications, as well as recovery expectations

Examination and Standardized Photos

Once the initial discussion with Dr. McDaniel is compete, examination of your areas of concern will take place. Your nurse or medical assistant will remain in the room for the exam. If needed, clinical measurements will be taken at this time. Once the exam is complete, Dr. McDaniel will leave and standardized photos will be taken. Patients will be able to get dressed at this point (unless sizing is to be done for breast augmentation, in which case you will remain in a gown), and Dr. McDaniel will return to discuss your treatment options.

Meet With Charity

Upon completion of your consultation with Dr. McDaniel, our office manager/patient care coordinator will meet with you. Charity will provide you with a detailed quote for surgery. When performed at our AAAASF-certified operating facility, this involves all costs for surgery, including:

  • Surgery fees
  • Facility fees
  • Anesthesia cost
  • Supportive garments
  • Implants (if applicable)
  • Preoperative and postoperative care

The quote you are provided is valid for 4 months so that you have time to decide what is best for you. We do not pressure you to schedule surgery– we are interested in you making the decision that is best for you!

More Questions?

Our goal is to be as thorough as possible so that you are as comfortable as possible. We understand that sometimes more questions come up after your consultation. We encourage you to call us with your questions or to come in again to talk with us!
